Meeting your technologist
Following check-in, a CDC/CDC on Comer technologist will meet you in the lobby and escort you to your imaging suite. He or she will be with you throughout your visit. Depending on the type of exam you are having, you may be required to change into a gown. For an MRI, you will remove all articles made with metal and secure them, along with other personal items and valuables, in a secure locker. The technologist will then provide details and a thorough explanation of your exam. We especially welcome your questions at this point before the exam begins and scans are taken.
You will find there is plenty of room with natural lighting and custom lighting in our MRI and CT imaging suites. The technologist performs the scan from the adjoining room, monitoring the entire process through a large window. There is constant contact with him or her via a microphone, letting you know exactly what to expect and how long it will take. Whether it is headphones for music, eye pillows or a blanket to help soothe you, we are intent on making you comfortable before, during and after your exam. If you have any feelings of discomfort or concern, simply let the technologist know, and he or she will help make you more comfortable.
